1. Can I skip promotion levels if I earn lots of sweat equity points? If I earn 300 sweat equity points this week, can I skip from Intern to Manager with only one promotion challenge?

No. You cannot skip promotion levels. You must complete a promotion challenge for each level.

If you earn enough points for two promotions, then you may attempt two promotion challenges in one week.

2. Do I need to log my sweat equity points online?

No. You need to log your points on the Weekly Challenge Sheet, and give it to your trainer. He/She will record your points online.

3. Where can I find my current sweat equity point total?

You can find them online on the blog: https://tobeceo.wordpress.com.

Sweat equity points will be updated every Monday morning.

4. Who is SPC?

SPC (Stevens Pharmaceuticals Company) is a fictional global drug development and production and distribution company. In many ways it resembles the company the players actually work for. It is, however, a work of fiction, and is merely a backdrop for the game.

5. Brian’s secret phrase is, “New York style pepperoni pizza”. I’m giving a workshop on Gamification at KOTESOL 2013, JALT 2013, and NEASTD 2014 conferences. If you attend the workshop, you’ll earn bonus points if you know my secret phrase.

6. I write a lot of documents in English for my job. Can I earn Sweat Equity points for these and other tasks I do at work?

No. The purpose of the game to to encourage English use and practice outside of work. You can earn Sweat Equity points on your lunch break by chatting with your foreign coworkers or listening to a podcast.

7. I take extra English lessons over Skype. Can I earn Sweat Equity points for the conversation practice I have with my Skype teacher?

Yes. Any English use outside of work can count. If you take additional English lessons, you can count that time towards earning Sweat Equity points.
